REACH is the abbreviation for Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals in the European Chemical industry and came into force on June 1st, 2007.
REACH replaced most of the previous chemical legislation of the EC. Its main target is to ensure a high level of protection for human health and environment.
Under REACH manufacturers and/or importers within the EC bear more responsibility than before for specific risks caused by chemicals. REACH forces industry to provide users with pertinent safety information.

The implementation of REACH in the PENOX European sites was a challenging task and only by building a strong and competent consortium with members from ELOA and with the support from Cefic, ELSA, ILA and i2a was it possible to pass the registration deadline of all products by November 30th, 2010.

Under REACH the European PENOX entities have registered all their lead and antimony products as stipulated by REACH and submitted dossiers required for this to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) in Helsinki. For this purpose all European PENOX entities cooperated closely with their customers and will support them as far as possible.

Since 2011 PENOX provides its customers with the new extended Safety Data Sheet (eSDS) according to EC 1907/2007 and EC 453/2010 which contains the latest safety advice, exposure scenarios and the registration number of the products/compounds.
